Full casing method by long spiral drilling machines was used to build bored cast-in-situ piles in the silty coastal area along the Red Sea in Saudi Arabiawhere the coral reefs are widely distributed. This paper summarizes the construction technology, analyzes its merits and drawbacks and provides reference for construction of bored piles in similar geological condi tions.
