In the light of the rehabilitation works at Shuaiba Oil Pier in Kuwait, the paper expounds the significance of building a contractor's own site laboratory. With extablishing a laboratory on site, the contractor could obtain relevant test data in time, thus shortening the construction duration and cutting the cost.
