The paper presents the tendency in development of large trailing suction hopper dredgers in recent years, including the new achievements in the overall design of trailing suction dredgers and suction piping system , the fully integrated navigating bridge, the dynamic positioning and tracing system, the new DTPS system, and the simulative training system.
